Question and Answer – Long Conversation #55

Posted on June 3, 2012

Answers were once very difficult to obtain. Men had to pray for days, and it involved a lot of tin cans and electric wire and faith.  So a man might be asked a question by his mistress. Maybe she would ask him if he loved her. Of course he would have no idea. He would have to pray and put his ear against the tin can and listen. If he was lucky, there would sometimes be a hum.

These days answers are much easier to obtain. We don’t have to pray so much, and it turns out the tin cans and electric wire were causing cancer anyway. Now all you have to do is use a computer and a search engine. Some people keep more than one monitor. We are all getting so great at multitasking, asking our computers all of these questions and believing every answer.
