He would wear disguises when he wanted to be around her. His favorite was a wolf costume because it was subtle and did not draw much attention. The hope was that she would notice that he was not there and recognize that his absence was a way of demonstrating a deep affection. She would find this wildly romantic once she caught on, but for now he would have to bide his time and not be a part of her life. This meant that Instead of a girlfriend he had this rented wolf costume that was almost surely infested with fleas and bodily fluids. And this was how he watched her, later left to howl at the moon or maybe a bright street light.
