Wrapped in Red Paper – Paranoia #88

Posted on December 25, 2011

The present wrapped in red paper was a gift from his wife. Every few moments the box would shake and he would hear the sound of a hungry stomach. Lately she had been asking him for a baby. No, he said. We don’t need any babies. She was not happy and he was certain that she had secretly pledged revenge. What did she have wrapped in that box? Whatever it was would survive until the morning, when everyone would be tearing open their gifts. He hoped it wasn’t a baby. A famished beast he could handle, but a baby was another story. If he opened the box and it was a baby he would ask for a gift receipt. Merry Christmas, he would say sarcastically, Merry CHRISTMAS!
