Being Good – Advice #288

They had been practicing at being good to one another, but now it was down to one slice of cheesecake and desperation had rushed into the room, quiet but as present as a hole in the chest.  Do you want that, he said. I do, she said. That’s not very nice, he said. Back off, she said. There were harsh words. There were mentions of past failures and disappointments. There was a sword fight and then he gave in and said, I’m trying to be good to you. You can have the cheesecake. But in his head he had already begun to detail a plot for retribution.
