The Menace of Twine – Curse #831

Posted on May 16, 2011

Some jackass tied a string from the rafters above my cube. There is a stupid rumor going around the office that I am helpless to resist swatting at string. Sure, in a past life I was a cat. Not a very successful cat — I fell from a building seven times and survived, only to eat some bad sushi from a dumpster and die. I always felt cheated out of that ninth life. But I like to live in the present, where I am standing in this cubicle, rolling my chair so that I can reach this string that some jackass tied from the rafters and swat clumsy at it. In the back of my mind I should be thinking that my chair has wheels, that maybe this isn’t a good idea, but I can’t help myself. Nature is hard to defy. I am the menace of twine.
