Consumer Behavior – Paranoia #91000

Posted on January 15, 2011

Some of his close friends and relatives and even mere acquaintances tell him that they aren’t sure he will ever truly be mature.  The grocery store does not agree with them; it has printed out several coupons based upon its appraisal of his needs, all of which are for Ensure.  This makes him suspicious that some element of his life has fundamentally changed without warning.  Years before he would receive coupons for cheap beer or condoms or pantyhose.  Now he has Ensure and he doesn’t know precisely what that means.  He suspects he has crossed some barrier and should open a Roth IRA or have a baby or start calcium supplements.  After all, his bones are shaky these days and he is nervous about the future.
